Shipping costs being paid by customer and seller

I'm a new seller on Etsy and I listed my first few products with a fixed price and the customer pays shipping. My payouts, however, are showing that I am being charged for shipping as well as the customer paying for it. I am very confused as to why this is happening or how to fix it. I can't seem to find any way to speak with an eBay agent/representative without having to choose from their automated help options in a chat which takes me around in circles. Any help from the community would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Understanding how the shipping piece works seems to be one of the biggest challenges for new Sellers. The Buyer pays YOU to ship the item, then you use that money to buy the label. If you print your labels through eBay you get a discount.

I just posted this pic for another Seller who did not understand how it works. This is from the transaction details, blue arrow is what the Buyer paid ME to ship. Orange arrow is what I paid for the label. Green arrow are the FVFs (Selling fees) I paid eBay on the transaction.

Thank you so much! I wasn't, for some reason, taking into consideration that the customer pays more than my fixed price when I don't include free shipping (they also pay sales tax). It makes sense now that I would use those "extra" funds the customer paid to buy the label and take care of the tax (so, essentially it's a wash). I do understand the transaction fees, but was a little disappointed that the fees were a percentage of the total with shipping and tax (ouch), but it is what it is. Thanks again; this was super helpful!
