Shipping cost
I'm the seller. The exact dimensions and weight were entered - I triple checked. The item was purchased and they charged the buyer an amount for shipping. When I went to purchase the shipping label, it was much higher than the buyer paid. It appears the buyer was charged the amount it would cost for me to ship the package to myself. I am in Florida - the buyer is in California. The buyer paid shipping fee of $9.00 - should have been $42.00. I have not purchased the shipping label yet - still have 3 days. Do I have any recourse.

It looks like you entered the $9.29 as a flat rate shipping charge, instead of selecting calculated shipping. I get the same $9.29 no matter what zip I enter, which means it was entered as a fixed amount.
You can’t ask the buyer for more shipping money. You are expected to complete the sale, since you set the price. Still, no one can force you to ship. If you cancel the transaction, you must select 'I am out of stock/I can't complete the transaction'.
You will get a defect for a cancelled transaction, and your buyer can leave feedback.
If your buyer has paid, you will have to fund the refund from a credit card or your bank account - whichever you have assigned as your preferred way to pay selling fees. Then eBay will release the original payment when it completes processing and send it to your bank.
