Shipping Charges
Is there anyone who can explain the wide variation in shipping charges on EBay, and how an item shipped locally can have an extremely high shipping charge? Many times the savings that buyers are seeking on EBay are wiped out by shipping charges. Is it a racket or is there a legitimate reason for this?

Mentor2 years ago@easy419 Shipping prices are determined by the package size, weight, distance to the buyer, and the shipping method used.... ground advantage, priority, etc. Packages over 1 cubic foot have a dimensional weight surcharge by all shipping carriers and that can really add to the shipping cost.
Sellers can add handling charges to the shipping to cover the cost of packing materials.
