Can anybody tell me why I was charged for shipping out of my initial net payment and then charged again on my bank account?

It is confusing, but unless you bought 2 labels, you were only charged once.
You will see a summary of the transaction on order details which has items accounted, regardless of how they were paid for.
Postage will either be deducted from your available funds OR charged to PayPal, which will be charged to your bank that is linked to PayPal.
