Shipping calculator extremely underestimated the real shipping cost
I recently sold an item and the listing used eBay's calculated shipping. The buyer paid something like $23 calculated shipping for USPS Ground Advantage and my actual cost using eBay's automated system for creating the label was $71.
How did I lose the $48 and eBay apparently doesn't care a bit??

Mentor1 year agoCalculated shipping uses the information you enter regarding the size and weight of the packaged ready to ship item. If the dimensions or weight are not correct you will get the wrong shipping charge shown to the buyer. Never let eBay enter this information for you as they use category averages to do this which may not be correct for your particular item. Always measure and weight your packaged item before making the listing so you enter correct information.
