Shipping calculations by eBay not consistent with items to be sold
I placed a set of items (wheels) to be sold. My original listing detailed the items and I estimated the shipping. I stopped the ad for a few days and relisted the same items for a lower price considering the market. When it was relisted, eBay calculated the shipping (which was extremely low). Apparently, no research was done to evaluate shipping costs based on the weight of the items. The set of wheels sold and I packaged them for shipping. I took them to FedEx and the total charge was $826.00 compared to what eBay quoted to the buyer, $105.00. It would seem that eBay didn't have a remote clue concerning shipping, consequently I will take a "hit" for $700.00. This same situation happened to me through eBay several years ago. Therefore, I will no longer list any items for sale with eBay!! I am convinced there is no one in the organization who understands the individual items being listed concerning weight, etc. I'll never collect the difference, but won't let it happen again in the future.
