Shipping and Payment
Again, ebay has changed A Lot, and is very complicated. Sellers used to have more control! Evidently, ebay takes it upon themselves to generate shipping costs, labels, etc. On my end, it says that I shipped the item already, when I hadn't sent it yet. Anyway, I couldn't find a shipping label on the app nor via the email they sent. So I had to generate a whole new shipping order and tracking number. So I am 6 bucks in the hole! I informed the buyer of the new tracking number, but how will I get paid now, because technically, doesn't the new tracking number take ebay out of the loop? I have to rely on the buyer being honest?

Mentor2 years agoI don't use the app for shipping. Your buyer is not responsible for the extra postage. You need to void the unused shipping label and the USPS will credit you in about 2-4 weeks. You do that here: https://www.ebay.com/ship/labels/seller-hub
You can add the new tracking number on your orders page, just click on the current tracking number.
All of these instructions are for a desktop, so if you have access to one, that is a better option as there are more features.
Just FYI--eBay does not generate shipping costs or labels. The shipping cost if figured by your measurements of the packaged item, your weight, and distance (the only thing you can't control). eBay does not mark anything as shipped unless a label was generated. Did you mark it as shipped?

OP2 years agoThank you. I must have marked it as shipped, accidentally. I'll use desktop from now on. So, as long as I have a tracking number, I'll definitely get paid?
