Shipping Adjustment Issue
I was sent a notice for a shipping adjustment for a package I shipped to a customer. The carrier (FedEx) put the wrong weight on the package and I am now being charged for the difference. How do I get ahold of someone to get this corrected? eBay says I need to contact the shipper, Fed Ex. But, FedEx says I need to have the eBay's account number for them to be able to fix it.

Mentor4 months agoChanges to the package weight can happen if the package is oversize (more than one cubic foot). When this is the case the weight is based on DIM (dimensional) weight and not the actual weight of the package. This has become very common as shippers have become more aggressive in enforcing these surcharges.

Mentor4 months ago@elha-2848 This is most likely a dimensional weight surcharge. Do not use the box dimensions printed on a box as those are the measurements for the inside.
Only eBay customer service can file the dispute since they are the Fed Ex customer. I recommend contacting CS on social media to ask them to do this. Keep in mind that Fed Ex does sometimes add incorrect surcharges but there are CORRECT surcharges that you can read about on the Fed Ex website.
Personally if I have an item that is too large or heavy to ship via USPS then I use UPS and buy the label from PIrateship.com. Pirateship helps with insurance claims and surcharge disputes. UPS does have a list of valid surcharges on their website too. UPS does not add surcharges as often as Fed Ex does.
Social media is the best way to contact customer service for this issue.
Here's how to contact eBay general customer service. ( I feel that it's ok to use this option since it does affect your bottom line.)
Click this link> https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/getting-paid/getting-paid-items-youve-sold?id=4814
Then Type PAYOUT In the chat bot box on the lower right.
Then AGENT after the bot responds. You might have to repeat those steps.
Or you can also contact customer service by sending a PRIVATE message on social media. Customer service verifies your identity before responding.
