Shipping a pair of speakers
I’m shipping a pair of tower speakers in 2 separate boxes to the same buyer. I noted in the description this is the case and the buyer may pay extra freight as the calculation only accounts for one package size and only one shipping label. Now what…?

OP9 months agoSo I shipped the item in multiple boxes by getting a second shipping label as suggested but I’m out a significant amount of profit as I had to pay for it. I did not charge my customer more than in the listing. Do I have recourse with eBay as this process was confusing shipping a pair of something with no option to set up multiple packages. If I doubled one dimension of the package size in the listing it tripled the shipping cost I. which the customer gets beat or I have no chance to sell. Since I shipped as costed, I got beat.

Mentor9 months ago@danjo-193907. Shipping is an area that has a learning curve for new sellers.
Unfortunately you will have to call this eBay tuition. I paid some "tution" too when I started selling.
It is the sellers responsibility to make sure that the listing is set up correctly.
My previous reply explains how to post a multiple package listing correctly.
I understand that this is frustrating but eBay will not give you any money back for the mistake.

Mentor9 months agoYou cannot charge the buyer more than what they have already paid.
When you created the listing, you needed to state the shipping charges for shipping both speakers.

You can not use calculated shipping when you need more than one box in a listing.
This is what I do when I need two boxes, if you need more boxes than you need to add more to the item price.
I recommend looking at the shipping cost to the state farthest from you on this calculator for the smaller box> https://www.ebay.com/shp/calc/rates
Then use buyer pays > calculated shipping for the larger or second box.
You can not charge the buyer more for shipping than stated in the listing.
Once the listing sells then you select Get Another Label from next to the sold items. Let the buyer know that the items will ship in two or more boxes that may not arrive on the same day. You can print up to 5 labels per listing.
