I sold an item and had ebay calculate the box size but it WAY underestimated and I have to put it in a bigger box. What do I do?

I sold an item and had ebay calculate the box size but it WAY underestimated and I have to put it in a bigger box. What do I do?

Mentor5 months agoI am sorry to say there is little you can do now. Even though you let eBay determine the box size you are still responsible for what is in the listing. The problem is that eBay uses category averages for the box size and has no idea exactly what size box you will need. You should always enter your own weight and box size.
eBay does not allow you to charge the buyer any more than what was calculated at the time of purchase. So you are responsible for any shipping charge shortage.

Mentor5 months agoYou should always put in your own dimension when making the listing. In this case though since it already has sold you will need to just pay any difference out of pocket.
