Shipping
Does eBay protect you from price gouging when it comes to shipping? I want to purchase an item but the seller is charging over 3 times the amount for shipping then similar items.

Sellers are expected to set reasonable shipping costs, but if you agree to buy an item with the posted shipping there is no protection from that cost being too high. Shopping by total price can help you avoid sellers that overprice the shipping and underprice the item.
BTW - price gouging only applies to items deemed essential during national or state declared emergencies.
