I'm hoping someone can help me. I sold a an item on eBay and I took it to the United States postal service they they could. They said they couldn't accept it so I then took it to UPS. They said they could accept it but then it got returned and now when I'm looking up the price to try and ship it, it's like $500 more than what I've already paid. I don't know what to do. I can't get a hold of the buyer and I have already paid $237 out of pocket for the first shipment. Apparently it's because it's going to a home and not a business. That's why there's the price difference. But am I going to be reimburse my $237 that already paid out for the shipping label? And what happens to my account if I cancel the order?

Did UPS accept it, then ship it or deliver it back to you, or what was the sequence?
I don't think a label can be voided and refunded if it was shipped at all, but it's not clear how/when this was handled.

As for cancelling, your account will be dinged for that, and the buyer can leave negative feedback if they want, but your only other choice is to eat another $500. It would be best if you can reach the buyer and explain the situation, hoping they will be somewhat understanding.

1. Took to USPS and they stated it was to big. Already had shipping label printed.
2. Took to UPS and said they could ship it. The next day it is returned to me. I then checked with a store that does fed ex, UPS and USPS and he got a price of 740 to ship it but if it were going to a business it would only be $185
I tried to contact buyer with no luck and can't reach anyone at eBay.
The part only weighs 12 pounds. It's an aluminum radiator support for an acura. I just started my store and don't want any negative feedback.

Still suggest you ask on the Shipping board with the additional info above - there are experts over there who can better assist. I don't know what UPS rules would be applied here or what the best options for you are.
And did you at least void your USPS label so you are refunded for that one?

Mentor10 months ago@a1locatorautoparts - make sure that's what you did. There is a time limit (28 days) to void the label for a refund.
Check it on your Shipping Labels page - it should show the Cancel/Void is in progress -
