I have sold an item on eBay and the buyer has asked for usps priority mail do we have to ship it the way they specify? It is $80 to send it that way

You are obligated to ship the way you listed, or faster if you choose a different method.
You listed the motor with priority mail, so you must ship it priority or a method with a similar delivery time. You can check ups 2 or 3 day since that would be the same speed as priority, but don't change carriers without checking with your buyer. Some members have very strong feelings about ups or usps.
