I don’t have the item I’m selling yet but the buyer agreed to wait and paid me but eBay is telling me I have to ship it to them in the next 4 days. There are texts with the customer for proof if that helps.

eBay has a way to list items you do not have yet using the presale option. There are strict rules for presale listings. Here is the presale policy page:

The buyer agreeing to wait will not prevent you from getting a late shipment defect. The beast thing to do is let the buyer know you listed the item incorrectly, can not delay shipping, and need to cancel the order and refund them.
You can then list the item again using the correct presale listing so they can repurchase. When you go to list again do not select the relist option, use sell similar. You will get a copy of the original you can revise.

Mentor10 months agoIt's fine that the buyer is willing to wait, but you will receive a defect for shipping late. Why did you list the item if you didn't have it it readily available?
