How can a company selling on ebay claim they cannot cancel an order claiming it has already shipped when you cancel it within 15mins of making said order. I've learned from experience that most company's who do business via eBay n have a week to ten day delivery window usually don't ship for at least 2 days. I say this because I order a lot of parts from company's n if they get an order processed n out the door within minutes of the order being placed you'll receive it anywhere in the US in 3 days. Usylually when I order from company's on eBay they ship 3 days before the deadline for the delivery dates they show on the item. Which means if they give themselves a 10 day window they ship 7 days after you order. This is based on company's with warehouses n items in stock in the US. This being said I didn't want to cancel the order I just wanted to change the payment method cause the order was charged to the wrong account. I'm waiting to see if I get this item in the next 3 to 4 days. If not then the company was being untruthful when they claimed the order couldn't be canceled cause it had already shipped in which case I'll make sure to post my review of this company in eBay along with every social media site I have at my disposal.
Ebay should have an option to cancel your order or change payment available on each company if you need to change either right away. I mean you tell me one big corporate shipping company that ships withing the hour of your making the order.
I like ebay but this policy is the reason I don't buy in eBay as my first choice when I need parts or tools immediately because if I screw up n order on the wrong account or payment method I'm at the mercy of this big company when I'll get my item n how long they want to take to refund my money. They take your money electronically within minutes of you placing an order but claim it takes 7 to 10 business days after receiving your returned item to process your refund.
It might just be certain Prime members but as soon as I get a return package scanned at UPS drop off point that is going back to Amazon my money is back in my account at my bank usually within 1-4 hours not days. Ebay really needs to address this issue with it's sellers but I understand eBay isn't Amazon.

Mentor3 years agoBuyers cannot cancel orders, only sellers can and they are not obligated to. Cancellations cost sellers time and money they cannot recoup. Sellers never "take" your money. You authorize payment to them when you make the purchase. Sellers are expected to ship within the handling time shown on the Shipping, returns & payments tab of the item listing which you agreed to when you made the purchase.
The solution is to be sure you want the item before you commit to buy it and to take time when going through checkout to be sure the desired address as well as the desired payment method are selected.
