I bid and one a five Day auction that had free shipping. After the auction was over, the seller decided to inform me that there would be shipping added. I believe that the auction didn’t bring enough for the seller so they’re trying to make it up in the shipping or trying to get me to cancel and get a refund. Is this legal for Seller to do that?

·2 years agoHas shipping been added when you go to pay? How did the seller "inform" you? Did s/he send an invoice or just a message? If the latter and you can still checkout with the s/h as indicated in the Shipping, Returns, and Payments tab of the listing to your location (sometimes buyers rely on a display to some other location to claim the listing showed free shipping, always check the shipping section for price to your location and estimated delivery time there before you bid or otherwise commit to buy) do so now to put the ball in the seller's court to either ship or cancel or not ship.
If the seller has in fact issued an invoice with revised s/h not in your favor (which s/he can do physically but is not supposed to do under eBay rules) you either pay it (and leave appropriate feedback--calm, factual) or risk an "unpaid cancellation record" strike which you can appeal because the seller changed the terms, but which can affect your ability to buy until (and unless) eBay does overturn it (and I suspect the overturning does not restore your right to leave feedback).
