Shipping
Buyer bought an item and after paying for it, immediately sent me a message asking to ship it to a different address, they're "Home address". The original address was a shopping district in one state and the address they wanted it shipped to was a home in another state. Buyer has been with Ebay since 2019 and has 0 feedbacks. Is this normal practice?

·3 years agoDo not ship to a different address than the one on file. Is it an expensive item? Just wondering because scammers usually try to change the address like that.

OP3 years agoThat's the thing....it's not an expensive item..it's only $20....I'll send the buyer a message that I will only ship to the address Ebay has. Thanks for your input, I appreciate it.

As a seller, you are required to ship to their Ebay shipping address provided with the notification of payment.
You can offer the buyer to cancel the transaction if they wish, then they can re-purchase the item and use the correct shipping address.
Are you absolutely sure it was the actual buyer that sent you the message?

OP3 years agoThe message came from the same ebay name as the buyer...?

I'll send the buyer a message that I will only ship to the address Ebay has like you suggested. Thanks for your input, I appreciate it.

Hope it works out for you.
Sometimes bad buyers will ask the seller to send somewhere else (a friend or relative) and then they will file a Refund Request since will not show it as delivered to the buyer's Ebay shipping address. You will be forced to refund and buyer ends up with a free item.
