I understand that when I've selected in my listing that the buyer pays shipping and I entered the seight and dimensions of the package that will get shipped, ebay bills me for the shipping and I pay it. So then is it true that the winning bid amount that I see has the calculated shipping value included in the winning bid? Example: The bid amount was $78. I was billed $12 for shipping so cleared $66. I thought the buyer would me $90 so after I pay the shipping bill I would clear the $78 amount bid. That is not what happened - I got $66. So then the $78 bid must have actually been a $66 bid and ebay knew to add the $12 based on buyer's zip code, to show the winning bid as $78. If not, ebay screwed me out of buyer paid shipping. Their chat assistant wasn't able to understand, so that's why I hope the community can.

Mentor2 years agoThe headlights sold for $78.77 + $10.34 shipping. The final value fee for a sale is charged for the total transaction, which is the item + shipping + tax plus a 30 cent transaction fee. The total you received sounds right.

OP2 years agoThanks for replying. The transaction detail shows the fee was based on an amount of $91.37 (so I assume that is what the buyer paid, not the $78.77 bid amount that shows, which I was wrongly assuming is what the bidder pays)? Then it makes sense. ($13.92 was subtracted for ebay fees, leaving me a net of $77.45 - turns out almost the same as the bid since fees and shipping were nearly the same).

OP2 years agoBut wait - me again. It only shows $64.85 available funds in my account - exactly $12.60 (the calculated shipping cost) subrtracted off of the $77.45, and it does say $12.60 was subtracted from my account for shipping label. So unless something more gets pumped back into my account, I have paid both the fees and shipping off of the $91.37 to only get $64.85 in my account. I say ebay did something wrong. How would I get that straightened out?
