Shipped in wrong usps priority mail envelope
Does anyone know how the following will be handled?
I packaged my sold item in a USPS Priority Mail padded flat rate envelope but selected the unpadded envelope in the shipping section. My husband took it to post office for me and told me afterwards that it was the wrong envelope and my account would be charged the difference. He said agent told him it could present a problem with delivery. I’m new at this; this is my 4th sale

Mentor10 months agoIt can go one of two ways depending on how the post office handles the problem. In theory they are supposed to back charge you for the difference in postage and still deliver the package. Unfortunately in practice many times the post office will charge the buyer the postage due before they turn the package over to them. There is no way to know in advance which will happen.
The buyer can then either refuse the package and the post office will return it to you and charge you the postage due or the buyer can pay the postage due and ask you to send them the money they spent. In either case you can receive negative feedback from the buyer.
