Shipped but not really
Why does eBay allow sellers to print a label and call it shipped? I literally have sellers constantly print a label and wait a week to drop it off. EBay doesn't seem to care that I'll go look elsewhere from now on because of a "glitch" shipped is shipped. If they printed a label make that a button but don't call it shipped because it's not being "shipped". Do better ebay!

Mentor3 years agoEvery online company I do business with sends me a message that the item is on the way when they create a shipping label. The purchase does not necessarily go out the same day. This is customary.
Some sellers purchase shipping labels as soon as an order comes in as part of their processing procedure. Not every seller ships daily. They are expected to ship within their stated handling time (usually shown on the listing's Shipping, returns & payments tab and can be anywhere between 0-30 days), and the purchase is expected to be delivered on or around the estimated delivery date shown in your Purchase History.
When it's past the estimated delivery date shown in your Purchase History, you have 30 days to use the option next to the transaction to open a case for an item not received. The seller will have 3 business days to prove delivery or refund. If he doesn't, go back to the case on day 4 and use the option to ask eBay to step in. They will force the refund.

Let me clear something up for you about eBay ... the message that an item has shipped simply because a Seller printed the label is eBay doing that NOT the Seller. I and other Sellers have complained to eBay about this because it is NOT being honest and Buyers like yourself have every right to be ticked off about it BUT again, eBay is to blame NOT Sellers.
The item has shipped when (and ONLY WHEN) the carrier has the package scanned into their tracking system and it is in their possession, period.

OP3 years agoI tried to convey that this is ebays fault not the seller. EBay will show it shipped just because a label was created. An item shouldn't shown shipped until its in the couriers possession.

Mentor3 years ago@dou_83459 I ABSOLUTELY AGREE 110% If your schedule permits you can contact eBay and complain to them ... THEY actually need to hear this complaint from Customers NOT just Sellers. As you already know it is a long standing issue and Sellers have been complaining for a long time.

Are you receiving your purchases on or before the estimated date of delivery that is shown in your Order Details?
That's all that really matters.

Luckily, Ebay has a Money Back Guarantee when you do not receive your orders on time.
Go to your Purchase History and click on Order Details next to the item title to see if the latest estimated date of delivery has already passed.
IF/WHEN the latest estimated date of delivery has already passed by at least 1 day, you have up to 30 days past estimated date of delivery to file a Refund Request:
Go to your My Ebay page >> Purchase history
If the seller does not respond after 3 days, you can ask Ebay to step in to help you.
