Shipment tracking failure
Anyone ever buy an item that included tracking, but tracking is never updated for days? Especially when the seller ans the item are less than an hour's drive away?

Not every seller provides tracking, and even if the seller does so, not every package gets scanned, and not every scan is necessarily updated. Tracking is for the seller's protection.
The buyer has thirty days from the last estimated delivery date shown at the time of purchase to start an "item not received" claim with eBay. Once a claim has been started, the buyer has up to twenty-one business days to ask eBay to step in and force a refund if the seller cannot provide a tracking number that shows delivery within three business days. If the buyer does nothing, the case is automatically closed without a refund, and eBay can no longer help.
