Shady things being done by eBay staff?
I listed my PC on eBay a few days ago and it was flagged with "This listing violates our Item Description policy"
banner, and the listing was removed. They claim I was selling a case only and not a computer even though there are many images clearly showing the computers internal mother board and video cards. And now since this item was flagged I get suggestions based on my recent searches for what looks like porn blowup dolls. it is highly suspicious to me. How can this person who flagged my listing get investigated? I am thinking they are protecting other PC sellers here by shutting down competition and somehow corrupting my profile.
It is really disturbing to see pornographic images every time I go onto eBay!

·10 months agoCooler Master HAF XB EVO computer case with i9-9900K and RTX 5070 Ti components.
This setup includes an Intel i9-9900K processor and an Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti graphics card housed in a Cooler Master HAF XB EVO case. The memory and other specifications are currently unspecified so I did not use them.
You title could be misread as you are selling a Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti computer.

OP10 months agoDespite eBay’s vast number of listings, it’s unacceptable that they can’t recognize a computer case with visible internal components as a complete system, especially when the images clearly show this. Given the revenue generated from their extensive listings, eBay should invest in staff to review appealed listings properly. As I mentioned earlier, I provided photos clearly showing a computer with components, yet eBay’s failure to acknowledge this and their inability to address the issue effectively is inexcusable.

That is a HUGE leap to say Ebay is corrupt, especially because you have no proof of it. You just feel they are because you don't understand what they did and why. There is NO conspiracy to get your or cause you harm. I would suggest gathering your thoughts. Move away from this conspiracy theory and talk with Ebay to find out what your best avenue is to resolve your issues.
On each Ebay page there is a link to contact Customer Service at the top of the page and again at the bottom of the page.
I would suggest that you contact Ebay for Business on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter for the better trained CSRs.

Your options will be on the left. If you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant or Chat box type AGENT in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options. Not all options are available 24/7. It will depend on staffing available. So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't. Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me. If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.
If you use a cell phone or other mobile device, you may need to turn off your Spam filter so that Ebay can call you.
If you are a seller outside of the US or Canada, you will need to use the Chat Option.

OP10 months agoI did talk with eBay support, and they are useless. The person we are able to get on the phone has no understanding of what is going on and can ndo nothing about it.
This is the respect to my appeal,
"We reviewed your appeal of an action on your account. Upon further review, we’re unable to grant your appeal because the listings aren’t following our Item description policy. We appreciate that you selected eBay to list your "PC's i9-9900K Gaming Desktop PC NVIDIA RTX 5070 ti "; however, image(s) in your listing shows "It is a Cooler Master HAF XB EVO computer cased", which contradicts to the item you're selling. It also fails to gain the buyers' trust in your item due to unwanted confusion and contradicting information. Therefore, we recommend you to relist your item with the images of the item you wish to sel"
Of course the images show a computer case, there also happens to be a computer inside the computer case that can clearly be seen in the images I have posted.
Why. do I see pornographic images exactly at the time this listing was removed?

Mentor10 months agoI'm not expert on what you are trying to sell or the pictures you posted above. I do see in the last pic that it does say Cooler Master as the response you got from Ebay says. But beyond that, IDK much about what you are selling.
I previously gave you other ways of contacting Ebay if you are not getting the help you need by the option you have been using. You are not restricted to use just one way to contact Ebay for help.

OP10 months agoThanks for the links to contact them, but when I contact them on X they send a link to file a complaint against their policy. The link takes me to their standard how can we help page., nothing to do with a complaint anywhere on the page. This is absolutely ridiculous.

It is insane to me we have to go to other platforms to get results. The person I spoke to over X says they have fixed the issue, I will see as that is what the person I spoke with over the phone said.

Mentor10 months agoIt has nothing to do with "other platforms". They still work for Ebay. And Ebay is trying to make sure they have a presence to help members that need it on Social Media which is where they will find most members. It is to offer a more well rounded way in which to reach out to Ebay.

OP10 months agoRight, easier and more intuitive to go to X to for eBay support rather than clicking on the eBay help and support button directly on their site.
It amazes me how people can be so accepting and rationalize this kind of thing!

FYI, the CSRs on Social Media help functions are all Ebay employees and often times better trained than those CSRs at other options for help.

At any given time, eBay has over 1 billion active listings. Since it would be impossible to have eBay staff reading those listings, instead they are scanned by bots. Without seeing the listing in question, it's difficult to determine what could have triggered it being removed.
As for the images you are seeing, before you log off each time, be sure to clear your recently viewed items.
