Service not performed
I purchased a repair service for piece of equipement. I followed the instructions the person requested to get my product shipped. I sent the seller a message asking about the repair. Was told on a couple occasions that they fell behind and would be getting to it. I still have not recieved my product back after a year. On the sellers site it was said it only take a couple weeks. So now I can not get a message back on what is going on. I can not find a way to get help from Ebay on this issue. The seller also has a 100% rating which makes this all the more strange. Any help what I can do or should do would be appreciated alot!

Mentor1 year agoWell after a year not much if any remedy is available. Was there a reason you waited so long?
Is the seller still on ebay?
Did you already pay for the repair?
What is the item worth?
What was the repair cost?

OP1 year agoYes the seller is still on Ebay. I paid for the repair service right away. The cost was $180 to fix a Klipsch Pro Media 5.1 Ultra amp board and upgrade the cooling system.

Mentor1 year agoEbay could have taken care of this in the first 30 days and your payment processor up to 180 days, now those options are gone and you can't even leave feedback to warn others. However, you can report current listings offering this service as fraudulent.
Since you have the name and address you sent the item to you could file a complaint in small claims, which you can do locally, or have an attorney send a demand letter. Alternately, send your own demand letter by registered mail return receipt for proof of delivery, indicating you will have to turn this over to the buyer's local authorities, if you do not get an immediate response.

OP1 year agoI have been messaging him the whole time. Each time I would get a response back that it would be the next week it would get done and sent back. And then nothing.. I guess I just was to trusting that he was going to keep his word. Now I am just screwed. Lost my amp board and the money.

Mentor1 year agoNever let a seller string you out past the 30 day limit. Send the demand letter and see if you can at least scare him into resolving this.
If you can find out if he operates a regular business, then you could report him to his local city authorities, the BBB, or even his state's AG, they will followup and respond to you.
What is the amp board worth?

OP1 year agoYes I will send the demand letter. My mother works for an attorney so it will maybe be a little more imtimidating that way. Well since they do not make them any more you can find used ones on ebay from 300-500$ used. I paid over 1K new for the whole system.

Mentor1 year agoFor that kind of money certainly worth pursuing. Any attorney will have a boiler plate demand letter in their word processor, so should be quick and easy to do.
