OMG! I have been an Ebay user for over ten years now. Why, please tell me WHY I CAN'T GET RELEVANT SEARCH RESULTS??? I am looking for Mercury Cougar parts, for the years 1967-1970. I have no use whatsoever, for anything made for, or that fits any general motors products. Is there any way to stop getting such ridiculous and irrelevant search results?? I just did search for 1970 Cougar convertible parts, and got almost two thousand results. Three pages in, I am getting general motors pars, and generic lighting parts for cars from the 1930's. Ebay needs to keep in mind that there are many other online options available, and needs to do a much better job at this.

Mentor2 years agoOne problem with searching automotive listings is that some sellers have discovered they can get away with including pages and pages of "compatible" models and part numbers in the item specifics, and some of those sellers include entirely unrelated keywords that have nothing to do with what they are selling so that their items appear in the maximum number of searches.
As a result, very broad searches are liable to turn up lots of unrelated results. More narrowly targeted searches tend to work much better. So searching for anything that fits a Mercury Cougar will turn up thousands of results. Limiting your results to interior or exterior parts, or only OEM parts, or excluding some entirely unrelated model names may help narrow your results significantly.
One possibility is to include an exact make, model, year and option information to your My Garage to simplify looking for parts that specifically match your vehicle:

Grouping the make and model using a dash can eliminate some results that include the names separated by other keywords, but may be too restrictive in some situations, so the same search without the dash between Mercury and Cougar turns up more results that might be worth checking:

Mentor2 years agoI suggest you start with a general search, perhaps just Mercury Cougar and then on the left column, select the Item Specifics to narrow down what you are looking for.
