Mentor7 months ago@pn27416 You would have to contact a Freight company to find out the cost to ship the item. You have some pretty large equipment for sale which will be VERY expensive to ship.
The items will most likely need to be crated or placed on pallets for shipping. This is an additional cost.
My advice so you don't have to worry about claims for not as described or damaged in shipment is to give the buyer the weight and dimensions of the item so that they can research the shipping costs.
Then they will provide their own shipping method to have the item picked up.
At pick up be sure to scan the QR code or enter the 6 digit code on to the sold item as that is your proof delivery.
Otherwise you need to research the freight costs based on the buyers address then revise the listing and add a FLAT rate shipping cost.

OP7 months agoThank you! I ship all day so getting it sent is easy. Was hoping to give buyer the ship cost and I'm done.

Yes, that can happen because eBay monitors their message system. You might do better letting the Buyer know eBay has blocked pricing info for fear of a transaction going off their site BUT, if you have your listing's shipping setting set up properly they can see how much it will cost them to ship.
If they are asking for several items in one package you might suggest they go to the carrier's sight and use the calculator then give them the weight and box dimensions. That type of info should go through eBay messaging without issue.

OP7 months agoThank You! I changed the shipping set up. I originally had pick up or ask for a ship quote. Which buyer did and I gave him ballpark with prices high to low. That was fine, when I try to give exact that gets blocked. I'm afraid ebay will quote high and scare off the buyer. I ship all day long and get great pricing. We'll see.

Mentor7 months agoIf you are comfortable with freight shipping then just ask the buyer their zip code, that IS allowed
Then revise the listing and enter the freight shipping cost as a flat rate. You can NOT charge the buyer more for shipping than stated on the listing for the shipping cost. Stated in the description does not count.
Be aware that a No Return policy does NOT mean no refunds so if YOU arrange the freight shipping the buyer can SAY the item is somehow not as described and you would be required to pay the very high freight shipping to get the item back OR refund without a return.

Mentor7 months ago@pn27416. I forgot to mention that you can't revise the listing to change the shipping cost if there's an open offer.
If there is an offer you can end the listing and then revise the shipping and relist.
