Selling used items as new
There are increasing number of sellers who seem to be selling items that are obviously very used or have more subtle signs that the items are used even when catergorized as new in original box or new with tags. Some state they are used lightly in descriptions. They’re obviously wanting to be captured in searches by people looking for new merch. It’s a waste time to have to scrutinize each listing to identify truthful sellers. Why isn’t eBay cracking down on this?

Mentor1 year agoeBay can't possibly know that sellers are doing this. There are millions of items on the site.
I don't imagine that a seller will last for long with those types of actions. Buyers can return items and leave feedback describing their experiences. That in itself should weed out some of the sellers.
Buyers should always scrutinize items and sellers. Check feedback, look at photos and read descriptions carefully. Buyers can eliminate this quickly if they refuse to buy from sellers that say an item is new and used lightly in the same listing.
