Selling to new account holder
I am trying to sell a prom dress, but worried the buyer is going to scam me, he has just created an account 2 days ago and 0 reviews. What is the consensus out here?

·3 years agoYou have no selling history, no feedback, then list a $200 dress.
The buyer could be thinking the same thing, but decided to take a chance.

Mentor3 years agoYou are a new seller who created an account 4 years ago and you have no feedback. I can no more form an opinion about you than I can about your buyer.
If you sold the item, then you are required to ship within your stated handling time when the buyer pays per the user agreement you signed.

OP3 years agoBuyer has not paid yet or replied to my reply to his email indicating he had questions. I asked what are the questions, no reply. The address is not verifiable. I think it's a fake account. So ebay said I can cancel if not paid by a certain date, I think that's what I will end up doing.

Mentor3 years agoIf a buyer doesn't pay within 4 days, on the 5th day you should cancel the transaction for non-payment. That way the buyer earns a strike on his account and you are free to relist.
I would suggest however that before you relist, you earn some feedback. You'll have a better chance of selling your item. You'll also understand how eBay works from the buyer side of things (for example, buyers should ask questions before they commit to buy, not after).
