Selling - Shipping label address vs. Buyer Ebay chat address
If the Ebay generated shipping label address doesn't match the buyer address ( I contacted him in an Ebay chat and asked him for his address) is it a scam? One address is in Florida and the shipping label is in New Jersery. The money is in my Ebay account. Do I use the Ebay shipping label or do I trust the chat I had with the buyer? Thank you

You ship to the address on file at the time of the order. If you ship to a different address you lose your Seller protection.

You are more than welcome! If the Buyer moved and forgot to update their address that is not a Seller's issue. However, if they ask to cancel then you can do that and use the reason "Buyer requested" to avoid a strike on your account. The Buyer can then update their shipping address and purchase the item again from you.

You are more than welcome. We see all kinds of crazy things with addresses here. We have read thousands of posts over the years. When you said FL and NJ my first thought living here in frigid PA is maybe that Buyer is a snowbird, meaning they live in NJ but spend a few months in FL each year to avoid the worst of winter. Or maybe they relocated to FL and forgot to update the Ship to address.
I sold an item to a customer once but the package was sent back, Return to sender. When that happens the Buyer loses their eBay Money Back Guarantee protection. Sellers can refund the item price but keep the shipping the Buyer paid because that money was spent on the round trip shipment. I messaged the customer letting them know of the item price refund but did hear back from them. A month later I got another order from the same Buyer but from a different address ... no problem, I shipped the item. I never heard from them but the shipment went through with a successful delivery.
In some instances you can add a Buyer to your blocked list on this page: Buyer management | eBay
You can have 5,000 members on your blocked list. I will only do that in certain situations.
