Selling relatively valuable item to purchaser with brand new account and no feedback
Hello - I am a long time ebay buyer but infrequent seller. I listed a one ounce silver coin for sale (around $100). Purchaser joined ebay the day they purchased the coin and they have zero feedback. This makes me a little nervous. Am I protected in case this is a scam?

I would go ahead and ship. The Buyer may have found your listing in a Google search and created their eBay account to purchase from you. Ground Advantage comes with $100 insurance. If the item is worth more than that, you could purchase additional coverage. That would be if the package is lost or damaged.
The Buyer has the 30-day Money Back Guarantee. All Buyers have up to 30 days after delivery to request a refund on eBay if the item is never received or is received in a different condition. So be sure the tracking number is entered into the transaction. I would also have the package scanned at the counter and get a scan receipt.
In the scheme of things though, I think you'll be fine.
