Selling NOS parts as new eBay returns policy is about to be implemented
eBay has been a great thing. So, the new eBay return policy is about to be implemented and if you sell honest, true, NOS rare parts, how are you protected by a person who installed an expensive NOS part you sold to them and they decided for whatever reason that they didn’t want it? Maybe this individual cannot understand how to install a part or decided, unknowingly, to buy the wrong part, or was uncertain about fit. They buy a part from you that was clean, NOS, factory new, rare, no test fit bolt marks or grease or WD-40 on it and then you get it back, basically destroyed, with bolt test fit marks, grease, dirt, scratches…no longer can it be described as being NOS. Here it is…how can you resell as NOS it after this type of handling? They just ruined it as being true NOS and destroyed its actual value as NOS. What’s wrong with excluding vintage NOS parts from this requirement? It’s over for NOS sales basically. Expensive NOS parts should be excluded from this policy. I buy a lot of NOS parts on eBay for restoration jobs. I would never install an NOS part and try to return it. You eat it at the point of being wrong about the purchase. It’s not the sellers fault. I’ve never had that happen but I would never ask that of a seller. Any ideas? Thank you.
