Mentor1 year agoYes, ebay charges it's final value fee based on item price + shipping paid + sales tax. Years ago ebay only charged its FVF on item price, so some sellers would price their items at $1 and charge $99 for shipping. ebay got wise and started charging the FVF based on the shipping amount as well. When South Dakota vs Wayfair won their lawsuit thus requiring online sellers to collect sales tax, ebay made it easier by collecting that tax to remit to the different states, in exchange for charging the seller the FVF on the sales tax. That's it in a nutshell.
