Selling digital baseball card - Buyer didn't notice clear listing

Question

Buyer mistakenly purchased a digital baseball card (Topps Bunt app) from me, thinking it would be a physical card. Even though the listing is clear, I understood it was his mistake. I asked that he request to cancel the sale, and he instead chose to "return item".

I chose to sell this digital card using Ebay marketing. Where the $900 has nearly $200 eBay fees and commission. If I cancel the transaction on my end, would I still be responsible for the shipping label (haven't shipped) or any of the eBay fees that would've come out of the payment?

What is my course of action here. Thank you in advance.

You can sell digitally delivered items through a 'Classified Ad'. Please review the information I provided above.

All buyer would have to do is open an INR case and you'd have to give them a full refund

eBay refunds fees when you cancel the sale for 'Buyer Asked to Cancel'

You will get a refund for a canceled label.

I would cancel - if not the buyer can file a chargeback

Here's how to cancel (or void) an unused shipping label you purchased on eBay:

- Go to Manage shipping labels: https://www.ebay.com/ship/labels/my-ebay

- Find the item you'd like to cancel the shipping label for, then from the Actions column, select CANCEL.

- Choose your reason for canceling the label.

- Select Cancel shipping label.

You have 28 days to cancel a label. The refund will come about 21 days after you cancel.

Sellers not approved by eBay to list electronically delivered items can list their digital items in the "Everything Else > Information Products" category in the Classified Ad format.

Create your listing on the "Advanced Listing Tool" (with the ︙ 3 dots in the upper right) then:
1) Select an appropriate Category (such as Everything Else > Information Products)
2) Click "Format" in the "Pricing" area
3) Select Classified Ad (Not Auction, not Buy It Now)
