selling defects
I had water damage in my storage shed and did not delete items posted at Ebay that were damaged. When they sold, I contacted buyer, explained, and refunded payment. But calling these items Out Of Stock caused 5 defects which are more than 90 days old. Now my performance percentage is limiting items I can add monthly. Ebay phone reps have not been helpful. Any ideas?

Mentor2 years agoYou should have ENDED the listings for those items that were damaged. The worst thing that a seller can do is file a cancellation for Out of Stock.
What you need to do is to make SALES so that the percentage of defects is lower. When I was a below standard seller years ago, there weren't promotions, coupons and mark down sales. What I did was find an item I could sell for $5 with free shipping. It didn't matter that it didn't sell for any profit. What mattered is that it register a sale. It took several months, but I was finally an above standard seller. Good luck.
