Selling and shipping digital/ingame items
Hi, I am selling ingame items and I have a question about shipping. I have chosen the same shipping settings as other sellers but after the sale in the order details it says "Thank you for shipping your order! Your funds will be available within 3 days of order delivery after we confirm that the buyer has no issues with the order upon receipt. Please ensure you upload the tracking details to enhance the buyer's experience.". But I did not send anything by mail because it is an ingame item. In this case, what should happen for the money from the sale to be available? Do I need to wait until this time has passed "Estimated delivery date shown to buyer: Jul 24, 2025 - Aug 5, 2025" or will the buyer have to confirm receipt somehow?

Mentor1 year agoYou will have no proof of delivery in the form of tracking. The buyer doesn't provide proof; proof is in the form of a tracking number that says delivered. If the buyer claims they didn't get the item, you will be required to refund since you have no tracking. Listing in video games & consoles is selling a physical, tangible item. I also have to ask the question you didn't answer: do you have permission to sell these items from the owners of the game?

Mentor1 year agoDigital Items are suppose to be listed in the EVERYTHING ELSE category. There is a specific digital goods subcategory. Do you have permission from the people that own the game to sell those items?

OP1 year agoI simply selected the most popular and respectable seller in this category(ebay.com/itm/385732206254) and clicked "Sell simular" and its settings were also applied to my listing. I also checked other sellers before posting my listings and they all use the same category "Video Games & Consoles" - "World Of Tanks"

In addition to what @disneyshopper has provided please read eBay's Policy on electronically delivered items: Electronically delivered items policy | eBay
Whether you see anyone else selling something or not if YOU do not comply with eBay's Policy DO NOT TRY TO SELL IT. Those others Sellers can easily have their transaction cancelled if it sells or listings may eventually be removed.

Those sellers are listing in the wrong category. They are NOT selling a video game or console.
