Selling an unopened certified refurbished item
I have listed an unopened certified refurbished item. The original seller (the manufacturer) is certified by eBay, and the package came to me sealed. I haven't opened it. Since it is direct from the manufacturer and unopened, can I sell it as new?
Per eBay, the new item definition is "Packaging should be the same as what is found in a retail store, unless the item is handmade or was packaged by the manufacturer in non-retail packaging, such as an unprinted box or plastic bag."
So yes, the packaging is retail and unopened.

If it were me I would OPEN the box and make sure whatever is inside is as advertised and if it is a device that is supposed to do something I would make sure it does. Let's be clear on something, anything that is stated to be "refurbished" is NOT NEW.
If it is refurbished you need to state that in the listing.
If you try to pass it off as new and get caught it is coming back to you regardless of your return policy, Buyers have protection from eBay for 30 days of receipt of an item.

OP7 months agoIf there were a condition other than used that is more in line with the item's shape, I would select it. But, it seems eBay doesn't allow much more for us common sellers. I do have refurbished mentioned in the listing, though.
