Selling accessories for a breast pump
Summary: c-dietsch shared their experience with difficulties listing dishwasher-safe breast pump accessories on eBay. They explained that their listings were repeatedly taken down despite the items not requiring a prescription. krazzykats explained that eBay considers breast pumps medical devices, which affects the listing of related accessories. They advised using alternative platforms like Facebook to avoid potential account suspension, drawing parallels to CPAP accessory restrictions.
I have a bunch of dishwasher safe breast pump accessories. I see active item lots on ebay for basically the same thing. I struggled to get mine to post, as ebay automatically thought I was trying to sell a used pump. I duplicated another listing and updated it with my photos and updated the descriptions to match my specific lot, then my listing was accepted. Next day, I see it was taken down and the automated message said I couldn't list items that required a prescription. No prescription is needed for my lot of accessories. Any advice?

I would not relist your breast pump accessories on eBay.

Mentor3 weeks agoThis is similar to CPAP accessories, which also can’t be sold on eBay. The CPAP machine is the medical device, but items like face masks, tubing, and other accessories can’t be resold, even new and sealed.
Try another venue.

Mentor3 weeks agoIt’s because a breast pump is considered a medical device.

Mentor3 weeks agoDoesn't matter. The accessories go to a breast pump which is.
Like I mentioned, try FB instead or possibly risk being suspended.
It's still eBay's sandbox, and they make the rules.
