Sellers with fake accounts? & Aquiline delivery scam
Recently I asked how do I avoid buying from huge sellers or foreign sellers. Appreciate replies. Unfortunately I do the things suggested.
I found a US (?) seller correct grammar, high rating, “top seller. “ Place an order and within less than 24 hrs. it’s “out for delivery†with carrier Aquiline. I suspect “foul play.†Look into it and find multiple scam reports. Contact buyer asking how they could ship and have it out for delivery in less than 24 hours? Two word reply. “Fast shipping.†Now I know this is trouble. Then, I contact eBay. I’d researched the carrier. Many reports say eBay wouldn’t refund because seller claimed delivery. Request refund via eBay. It’s pending. Depends on seller reply. Then, seller contacts me, “please close case.†(Three word reply.) I protest. Reply says, “you’ll get your package.†Then they tell me we take photos before we ship to protect themselves. That photo doesn’t mean anything unless it’s what I receive if I receive it. According to multiple reports, the scammers have gotten away with this. You may get something but not what you ordered or you may not. This Aquiline is based in UAE and supposedly supplies tracking numbers for “some hidden carrier.â€
Are there sellers who may have stolen legitimate accounts or falsify info? Is this possible? I’m a small seller who also buys frequently. I’m less inclined to continue to do so. I try to weed out potential issues when I buy but…It’s gotten to be a bit of a minefield field.
