Sellers' shipping choicdl
Seems like Free Local Pickup of items really limit good
profitable sales by sellers. Furniture with reasonable shipping costs would easily be considered for purchase.
What do others think? Why does eBay accept this as good selling practice? Sellers choose for some reason.

Shipping large items can be expensive and logistically a challenge for sellers. Some sellers don't want to deal with it or paying for return shipping if the buyer opens a return. eBay allows sellers many options for delivery to buyers and local pick up is one. You are correct in that local pick up limits the number of potential buyers.
What is a reasonable shipping cost for a piece of furniture? $100 $500 $1000+
I just had a small dresser shipped about 1200 miles to me and when I got quotes from shippers they varied from $400 to $1800 depending on how fast they got it here and if they had to pack it. The lowest option was space available, no delivery date, but 30-60 days estimate. The highest was delivery in 1 week.

I thought as much. Too bad though for the seller.
