Sellers selling things they dont have
Summary: In this discussion, bero_3054 raises concerns about sellers listing items they do not actually possess. eburtonlab responds to the post. However, both posts contain no additional content or details regarding the issue.
Ive recently tried to buy a milwaukee sewer camera locator for my company and i found 1 for about 1/4 of the price of a new one. The problem is everytime i order it. They take my money and send something somewhere but its not my item to my house. Ups can only tell me the tracking number and my address doesnt match thats why im not getting my package. Im waiting now for the second time thinking "maybe this was a fluke" but no this is there actually business plan because they do it every time. And if i want to report or talk to someone with ebay about this im just S.O.L. theres no one to talk to. No nukber to call. No email address to email and frankly... I think this happends often on ebay and i think they make themselves not available so they dont have to deal wirh the crook... the customer does.
Every single thing ive bought on here is either never came in or was broken and it was just used trash someone got me to pay extraordinary money for and im not allowed to return it because of "verbage" it "came apart" vrs "its broken" everything except the silver... and I havnt cut these ozs in half yet but I guarantee if fake stuff is being sold its being sold on here. They make it just to easy to steal from people. Ive had over 1,000 tied up for over 2 months in a product someone more then likely never had to begin with. This is criminal.

If you have contacted the shipping service directly to determine that the tracking number does not correspond to a delivery to your address you are likely looking at a case of "false tracking".
If you can, I would suggest obtaining documentation that shows that the package was not addressed to you, then contacting eBay via social media direct message using Instagram and mentioning that you have a case of "false tracking" to be given an opportunity to share your documentation:
https://www.instagram.com/ebay/
If you cannot get documentation, or if that does not work:
Since false tracking allows a scam seller to win an "item not received" case, the next step would be to file a "not as described" return on eBay and be prepared to return exactly what you received if the seller provides for return shipping, or ask eBay to step in after three business days if the seller does not refund you or provide return shipping.
You may have recourse through your payment method if you are unable to get satisfaction through eBay, though once you involve a payment method, eBay can no longer help with that transaction. Be sure you mention "false tracking" specifically, otherwise your provider may assume a simple missing or stolen package and defer to eBay's ruling based on the tracking showing delivery.
In the future, stick to experienced sellers with a long and demonstrated history and avoid new or unproven sellers, or sellers that show warning signs of being drop-shippers or potential scammers: drastic changes in selling behavior or offering deals that are "too good to be true", or shipping heavy items that are unlikely to be profitably shipped via retail shipping.
