Sellers offering reduced sales price
Most of the time I use ebay to purchase most of my items that offer free returns. However, I have had several sellers offering me a discount for the item for me to keep it. Recently I had one seller offer me a 50 percent discount to keep the item or I could damage the item, take a picture and they would give me a full refund. These were shelves for a refrigerator that didn't fit. Why would I want to keep shelves that didn't fit or give them to a friend. I don't know how to reach Ebay about this issue but I'm totally not okay with this happening. Has anyone else been annoyed by this practice?

The seller can offer, but you do not have to accept. Often he is making the offer for an amount that is less than the return shipping will cost him, so he is trying to save a bit - you can’t blame him for that. Just say no thank you.
Always open a return request. Then if he offers a partial refund, make sure he offers it through the return so you can decline it. Then he must accept the return.
If a seller offers free returns, he must accept all returns, so matter the reason.
