Sellers of fake military items
I purchased a cdv/photo from a seller on e-bay that was labeled as a confederate officer original civil war period category in an original rice paper sleeve. Turns out that the photo was not original but a fake or a doctored set up to look like an original period item. I took the item to a Show at Gettysburg for dealers /sellers/collectors sponsored by Nort south Trader or The union Drummer boy and every dealer that looked at it condemned it as a fake. I contacted the seller " Kansas Kollectables " about my findings but he never responded back to me. I lost $480 and now I do not know if there is anything that I can do about it . Any help would be appreciated . I see that this same seller has posted for sale some more of these fake sleeved images and would like to worn others . I did reach out to the seller a second time and I am waiting to see if they will answer.

OP1 year agoI bought it on July 11 2024 and first contacted the seller October 27 2024 after finding out that the item was fake from every dealer that I showed it to at a civil war collectors show. The seller never responded. I see that the seller has listed some more of these fake photos on his sellers page Kansas-Kollectables in the original rice paper sleeves so I tried to contact the seller again and i decided to report and share my experience with e-bay them selves.
