Sellers choosing Buyer requested cancellation without reason

Summary: parttimenpc expresses frustration over a policy that allows sellers to cancel auctions under the guise of a buyer's request without letting the buyer dispute the claim. They argue that it's unfair for buyers who can't identify or find these sellers after the item is removed. parttimenpc suggests that eBay should improve its policies for transparency and fairness, such as allowing buyers to block certain sellers or receive warnings when attempting to engage with them again.

I know im not the first to state this but how is it fair for sellers to choose buyers requested cancelation and end their auction without the buyer getting to dispute the lie. If the cancelation is removed before it is seen there is nothing we can do, we can't even identify the seller to avoid them in the future. How is this fair to buyers. Ebay says we can see why the item was canceled, but we cant find them with the item removed. Ebay says we can chat the seller, but we cant find them with the item removed. EBAY needs to review their policies and rules for 2026 fairness. Is there anything we can do besides chat someone and ask them why they removed the bid, if we can find them? You can add sellers to favorites, how hard would it be to add a don't buy from these sellers with a pop up saying the risk and are you sure you want to bid.

I can only tell you why sellers choose that reason. It is because they don't receive a defect on their seller account if that is the reason. Choosing out of stock gives them a defect. Cancelling a paid order is a big no-no and eBay does keep track of those things and have suspended sellers for bad buyer experience (BBE). This seller will not last long with these practices.
