Seller history, feedback, experience and good ads with good photos of the actual item are the best things to look for. You do this before you buy.
I'm not sure why you think a name can cause worry.

·1 year agoeBay is a worldwide marketplace, and yes, many sellers are located in or selling items from China. As long as that is properly disclosed on the listing page, there is nothing wrong with that.
If the item said it was coming from the United States, or anywhere other than what the listing said, then you can report that. If you have a link or the item number for what you purchased, we can check what it says.

·1 year agoWe are volunteers here who have no access to accounts or orders, so an order number doesn’t let us look up anything. We need the item number from the listing instead (look for where it says eBay Item Number, or just the link from the top of your browser when you’re looking at the item, not your order details).

Mentor1 year agoWhat does the seller feedback look like?
If the seller has been selling for a while and has good feedback for selling similar items over a long period of time, that is a very good sign.
If the seller is new or inexperienced, has little or no selling feedback, is registered overseas but claims to ship from the US, the seller has drastically changed selling behavior very recently or is selling in a category where counterfeit items are a particular concern, those are all red flags.

·1 year agoThe time to decide whether to order from a particular seller is before you place the order. Even if you wanted to cancel now, it will be up to the seller to cancel the order. The item location is required to be correctly listed on the item page, although the seller may not be in the same location.
