Sellers advertising/listing items for sale which they don't have in stock ready to ship.
This problem is happening more and more . Ebay tolerates it: SELLERS LIST ITEMS FOR SALE WHEN SELLER DOES NOT ACTUALLY HAVE THE ITEM TO SHIP. Certain sellers list items for sale which they simply do not have ready to ship. Then ,after they have buyer's order and have charged buyer's credit card or PayPal acct info , go order the listed item from another seller who does have the item -at the same time advising you of an "unexpected delay in shipping to you". Or they are waiting for Customs in the U.S. to clear the item which seller is waiting to arrive from China,India or wherever, so seller can then ship to you.
The posting of the name of the carrier and a tracking number does NOT mean the seller has actually shipped your item.
The delivery date a seller posts does NOT assure your item will be in your hands by that date.
Ebay guarantees that buyer will receive item ordered or money back guarantee. The quarantee needs to be : Buyer receives item ordered BY promsed delivery date or buyer receives item ordered or money back PLUS 30% inconvenience fee ! And after a 3rd violation, seller is banned from Ebay platform . Whatever Ebay loses in commissions from those sleazy unethical sellers it will more than make up for in new customers once word get around about Ebay's new ethics policies.
