Seller with 6,000+ sales needs help escalating repeated listing/IP issues
I've been selling surgical instruments on eBay for years with a 98.6% seller rating and thousands of completed sales. I've recently had repeated restrictions and listing issues involving legitimate medical instruments.
Most recently, a genuine Karl Storz instrument was reported for trademark infringement even though the item is authentic.
I'm trying to determine the correct way to list genuine used medical instruments without violating eBay's intellectual-property policies. I've contacted customer service but haven't been able to get a consistent answer.
Is there an eBay employee, policy specialist, or escalation team that can review my account and listings?

MentorAug 17, 2026 at 2:27 PM · Edited@deutschybaby trademark infringement has nothing to do with authenticity, if the company is part of the VERO program, then sellers don't have that company's permission to sell their products. u will need to reach out to whichever companies have blocked your listings to get their permission.

Since you are dealing with repeated intellectual-property removals, I would first check the exact reason shown in the notice next to the removed Karl Storz listing.
If this was a VeRO/trademark report, eBay should provide information in the notice about the intellectual-property complaint and what action is available to you. If you believe the removal is incorrect because the instrument is genuine, use the appeal or review option shown in that notice and provide any documentation you have supporting authenticity.

I would not relist the removed instrument while the issue is unresolved.
Also keep in mind that surgical instruments can be subject to medical device restrictions separately from the trademark issue. Even an authentic branded instrument still has to meet eBay’s requirements for permitted medical devices and equipment.

So I would review the removal notice first and take the action or appeal offered there. That should tell you whether you are dealing with an intellectual-property complaint, a medical-device restriction, or another listing-policy issue.
