Seller will not agree to pay the cost of return shipping
I have every day tried to contact eBay to step in and the process they outline does not lead me to their stepping in. The seller found a price with Click and Ship and insists on that being the price to return the item. The Post Office said it cannot ship for that price. To ship to the UAE from here is $30.97. The seller insists it's $18.45 and will only send me that amount and will no longer respond to any emails. What happens if I just dispute the charge with my credit card company? What they sent me was a used part. It was supposed to be new. Time is running out!

Mentor2 years agoHi @john2b You may not have seen the option to Ask eBay to step in because it was too early in the process. That option only reveals on the return after the seller has had four days to make it right. We have taken this up with eBay many times. It should instead say the date you can Ask eBay to step in.
This seller needs to stop messing around. If they make you Ask eBay to step in, they will get an account defect. If you opened a Return for item not as described, the seller must send you a pre-paid return mailing label through eBay. They don't get to shop around or make you shop around. They just send the pre-paid shipping label and quit the haggling. You can ask eBay for help now through the Help + Contact pages, Chat with an Automatic Assist or Contact An Agent, type in Agent, submit, do that twice. Good luck!
Click the icon then type in Agent:

What kind of return did you initiate? Did you select something like "does not match description" or, if not, then what?

No, the Post Office cannot ship for that price. They will charge you a Retail Rate.
What you would need to do is probably buy the label on Click and Ship. Print that, and stick that on the package. Then take it to the Post Office. That is how this works.
eBay usually offers a discounted label as well. What do they charge for a return label for you?
You only other option is to proceed with using the Item Not as Described to force the refund, but it sounds like you are in the middle of that process. So you need to get your item shipped at this point.
