Seller warranty

Question

Seller offers a 1 year warranty and upon contacting them I was told because it's over 30 days since purchase that nothing can be done. What's the purpose of the warranty when they deny and refuse to do anything?

The 30 days refers to Ebay's 30 day Money Back Guarantee.

Who exactly issued the "warranty" on the item you purchased? Were you provided with any details when you bought it regarding how to file a claim under the so-called warranty?

Only the original buyer of the item has access to the warranty.

Unless the item purchased is brand new, never owned â€¦ as in from a dealer licensed to sell the product â€¦ it should be assumed there are no warranties on eBay products.

Almost all items sold on eBay have no warranty. Only items sold by factory dealers are covered. Items sold by others are second hand sales and are often not covered even if the item was never used. The buyer would have to purchase a third party warranty.

Is there a manufacturer issued warranty on the item? If so, you could try to contact them, but most manufacturers will not honor the warranty if the item is purchased on Ebay, since the Ebay buyer is not the original person who purchased the item.
