Seller unfamiliar with selling night vision, rules
I paid for an AstroScope and seller is suggesting it is a controlled item, and wants my personal state ID. Number one, I've bought several items like this and never had a request like that. They keep bringing up security and getting caught selling to unknown buyers. The AstroScope for one, doesn't even come with the intensifier/CIU. The seller keeps saying they're worried to sell products like this, it seems like a real account with several other AstroScope listings.

If it is allowed to be sold on eBay then message the Seller and advise them politely to either ship the item as purchased or cancel your transaction and you will gladly find another Seller. Don't even discuss their request for ID if it is not required.
If they keep stringing you out just wait one day past the estimated delivery date and file claim that you did not receive your item, the steps in the claim will lead to an eventual refund.
