Seller trying to refund me on Venmo
Summary: justsparklythings615 initiated a discussion regarding a seller's intention to refund them via Venmo. inceptions engaged in the conversation, responding to justsparklythings615, and they continued their dialogue with multiple exchanges. Additionally, disneyshopper briefly participated in the thread, although their contribution did not generate further responses. The discussion seems focused on the specifics of the refund process through Venmo and the participants worked collaboratively to address the issue.
I bought something from a seller with a 100% rating as a seller, but 8 days later i still didn't have tracking so i messaged them. They said sorry they were unavailable to ship it so either I could get a refund or it would be delayed. When I asked for a refund they asked if they could refund me on Zelle or Venmo. It sounded shady. I told them I didn't have that and asked if they could refund me on eBay. So far they haven't responded, and that was several days ago. I hate to report/mess up someone's rate but I also shouldn't have to take a hit as a buyer who cancels orders (if that happens, idk--I've never cancelled before). Can someone weigh in? I've tried calling eBay but it seems it's always after hours.

Mentor4 months agoebay hasn't had a phone number that takes calls since the pandemic.
Go to your Purchase History and locate the purchased item. What is the last estimated delivery date? You have up to 30 days past that date in order to file an Item Not Received case, to get your money back. Once you file, the seller has 3 days to provide a tracking number that shows Delivered or issue a full refund. If the seller does neither, on day 4 you return to the case and click Ask ebay to step in, to force a refund.
If it is past the 30 day limit, you will need to log into Paypal and file an Item Not Received case there, if that is how you paid, as they allow up to 180 days from date of purchase to file, to get your money back.
If you paid with a credit card, file a charge back with your credit card issuer.

Mentor4 months agoHi @justsparklythings615
Here's what to do...
Check the estimated delivery date shown in your Purchase History. When that date has passed, you have up to 30 days to use the option next to the transaction to open a case for an item not received. The seller will have 3 business days to prove delivery or refund. If he doesn't, go back to the case on day 4 and use the option to ask eBay to step in. eBay will force the refund.

OP4 months agoThank you! The last day of the delivery spread was a week ago, and the seller is unresponsive. I filed the item not received request tonight so hopefully they'll refund quickly and that'll be the end of this.

Don't forget... if the seller doesn't refund within 3 days, go back on day 4 and use the option to ask eBay to step in.
