Seller troubleshooting
I purchased an item from a seller, he contacted me, told me to cancel the order as the item was damaged, so I did. The seller then rejected my cancellation request and has been out of contact. What should my next move be?

Mentor1 year agoGo to your payment source now. Ask them for a charge back since the seller cancelled the purchase and has not refunded you. eBay will charge the seller $20 for having to go through the charge back process which you will win since your payment source makes the final decision and not eBay. So the seller will be out the full payment you made plus the additional eBay fee.

·1 year agoThe seller would’ve been supposed to cancel as Out Of Stock, since it was their issue that the item was damaged. But, they would’ve gotten a ding against their account, so they “cheated†a bit and had you request a cancellation. Buyer requested cancellation doesn’t count against anyone’s account at all, so it won’t affect you either. Them then denying the cancellation is more than just a little weird.
So, just wait until the estimated date of delivery passes by one day, and then open an item not received case (assuming at this point that you’re not goin to receive anything). The seller will have to get back in contact pretty quickly and resolve the issue, or get a major ding against their account for a case closed without seller resolution. This is because if they maintain radio silence, on the 4th day after you open the case, if they haven’t responded with a refund, you can escalate the case to ebay, and they will refund you . . . from the seller’s funds. Plus they will not receive their seller fees back.
